What's provided

We thought of it. All of it.

The full inventory of what is already in the lodge, and the short list of what you still need to bring.

You are 45 minutes from a grocery store in either direction. That changes what "provided" has to mean. It is not a courtesy. It is the difference between a good weekend and a drive back to Flagstaff.

This is the full inventory. Everything below is in the lodge now. The short list at the bottom is what we cannot provide and you need to bring. That list is the part that should make you trust the rest.

The kitchen at Spoonbill Lodge, with a gas range, a quartz island, and a built-in banquette.

Bring this

What we cannot provide.

A short list, and worth reading before you leave town. Most of it comes down to one thing: you are a long way from a shop.

  • Groceries. The nearest full store is 45 minutes away, in Flagstaff or Payson
  • Layers, in every season. The temperature changes 30 to 40 degrees in a day
  • Anything specific your family eats or drinks
  • Prescriptions and any medical equipment you need
  • Maps and playlists, downloaded before you lose signal
  • Chains or all-wheel drive, between November and March
  • Fire starters, if you are particular. We provide the firewood
  • Ice from Clints Well on the way in. The coolers are here

Have we missed something?

If your group needs something specific, email us before you book. That might be a particular piece of baby gear, a dietary staple, extra bedding, or medical equipment. We will tell you if we have it. We would rather answer now than have you find out on arrival.

We can also set some things up as an add-on, including groceries waiting on arrival.

Questions

What guests ask before booking.

Does Spoonbill Lodge have a pack-n-play and a high chair?

Yes. We provide pack-n-plays with sheets, a high chair, a booster seat, kid-size plates and cutlery, and step stools for the bathroom sinks. The lodge is not childproofed by default, but we can put out outlet covers on request.

Is there laundry?

Yes. Two washers and two dryers, with detergent, dryer sheets, and a drying rack. Two of each is unusual in a rental, and it is what lets a group of 20 keep up over a long weekend.

Is the kitchen fully stocked?

Yes. Full-size range and oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave. An espresso bar and a drip coffee maker. Cookware, bakeware, dishes, flatware, and sharp knives for the full lodge. We provide coffee, tea, filters, and basic seasonings. Bring your own groceries.

Do you provide towels and bed linens?

Yes. We make up every bed before you arrive and keep spare sets in the linen closet. Bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths are here for the full lodge, with extra blankets and quilts, and beach towels for the reservoir.

What do I need to bring?

Groceries first — the nearest full store is 45 minutes away in either direction. Then layers, any prescriptions, and maps and playlists downloaded before you lose signal. Between November and March, bring chains or drive all-wheel drive.

Is there a first-aid kit?

Yes, fully stocked. There are also fire extinguishers on every floor, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, and flashlights with spare batteries. A card lists the nearest clinic, hospital, and forest service numbers. The welcome card shows where each item is.
